Dr. Cornateanu began his educational pursuits at the University of California, Santa Barbara, earning his Bachelor of Science in biopsychology. Following graduation, he was accepted into The Tel Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine New York State/American Program. Dr. Cornateanu excelled and obtained his Doctor of Medicine.
Before launching his career, Dr. Cornateanu completed a residency in general surgery at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and a gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery fellowship at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Cornateanu enjoys enhancing his skills and regularly participates in continuing education. He proudly holds membership in several professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.
As a physician, Dr. Cornateanu takes time to understand each individual’s symptoms and concerns. Whenever possible, he develops surgical treatment plans that are minimally invasive.
